About Us
Orlando Neuropsychology and Counseling Center, LLC was formed in February 2011 by Kristan Olafsson, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist,  in response to the need in the community for combined assessment, treatment, and cognitive rehabilitation services for persons who have suffered brain injuries, and strokes.  In addition, assessment and rehabilitation services are also useful in cases of dementia, cognitive dysfunction, learning disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD. 
Dr. Olafsson has been licensed in Florida since 2002.  He has been conducting assessments since 1992.  Kristjan Olafsson, Ph.D.
Dr. Olafsson has been in the field of psychology for over 20 years, having completed practicums and an American Psychological Association pre-doctoral internship at Crownsville State Hospital in Maryland, with participation in a formal neuropsychology training program.  Dr. Olafsson completed a forensic neuropsychology residency with Dr. Aaron Noonberg at the Osler Medical Center in Towson, Maryland.  Dr. Olafsson also completed a year long externship at the Maryland General Hospital Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Center; he was employed as a school psychologist in Maryland and Florida;  and the consulting neuropsychologist for the Halifax Hospital Traumatic Brain Injury team.  Dr. Olafsson has provided courtroom testimony as an expert witness in the field of neuropsychology in both civil and criminal proceedings in multiple Florida counties.  Dr. Olafsson provides neuropsychological evaluations for the Veteran's Administration, Fitness for Duty Evaluations, and evaluations required by the Federal Aviation Administration.  He is in his 18th year of providing neuropsychological services in Florida with the Neuropsychological Assessment Service.  Dr. Olafsson serves as a practicum supervisor for the University of Central Florida Clinical Psychology program.  Dr. Olafsson's hobbies include aviation, music, writing, and spending time with his wife and two children.

Margie Justice-Pitoniak, Psy.D.
Orlando Neuropsychology and Counseling Center, LLC is proud to welcome Dr. Margie Justice- Pitoniak, Psy.D to our team. Margie Justice-Pitoniak, Psy.D. received her Doctorate in Psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois in 2011. She is a Licensed Psychologist in Florida. Dr. Justice-Pitoniak is trained as a Clinical Psychologist, providing individual, group, and family therapy, as well as psychological assessments, to clients from across the age spectrum. She utilizes cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, family-systems, and play therapy techniques to help her clients work through emotional, behavioral, neuro-developmental, and adjustment difficulties.

Elisabeth Shutt, Ph.D.
Dr. Elizabeth Shutt completed licensure requirements as a provisional psychologist under the supervision of Dr. Kristjan Olafsson at the Orlando Neuropsychology and Counseling Center, LLC. Dr. Shutt earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology at the University of Tennessee and is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She also holds a M.S. in Educational Psychology and Counseling and a graduate certificate in Grief, Loss, and Trauma. Dr. Shutt completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship with Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District in Houston, Texas. She completed her postdoctoral training at Orlando Neuropsychology and Counseling Center. She has experience working as a school psychologist in Florida public schools. Dr. Shutt specializes in psychological assessment and parent behavioral management training. Dr Shutt has received certified training in the administration of the ADOS.

Jess Hanzman, Psy.D. 
Dr. Jess Hanzman received her doctorate from Nova Southeastern University in South Florida in 2017. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida. Dr. Hanzman is trained in providing forensic and neuropsychological testing, along with group and individual therapy, to a wide range of clients ranging from age 4 to 80 years old. She utilizes interpersonal therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and play therapy techniques to help her clients work through emotional and behavioral difficulties, including grief, loss, trauma and adjustment difficulties.
