Orlando Neuropsychology and Counseling Center utilizes computer-assisted cognitive rehabilitation programs to facilitate improved cognitive functioning following traumatic brain injury and stroke. Cognitive rehabilitation is also effective in strengthening areas of cognitive functioning impacted by ADHD and learning disabilities.
Cognitive rehabilitation involves a commitment to cognitive training four days per week over an eight month period. Patients receive individual training on a weekly basis. Patients can then access the rehabilitation program from home via the internet on other days, or they can utilize the cognitive rehabilitation computer lab at the center free of charge. Elderly patients are encouraged to use the computer lab if transportation is available. Individual assistance with the program is available and helpful for many patients who may not be comfortable with using a computer, and participation at the center provides much support and structure during the rehabilitation process.
